About this product
Össur Formfit Ankle Stirrup
Formfit Ankle Stirrups are lightweight and sturdy. Whether worn after an acute injury, for chronic instability or after a cast, they stabilise the ankle by restricting inversion and eversion (rolling in and out). The universal design fits around the ankle bones on both sides, and the Flex-Edge™ overmould protects the skin from hard edges.
This version has foam liners. The same stirrup is also available with gel or inflatable air liners.
Who may benefit from this ankle stirrup?
Össur lists Formfit Ankle Stirrups for situations that need inversion and eversion restricted, which may include:
- Mild to severe ankle sprains
- Chronic ankle instability
- Post-cast and post-walker support
- Ankle injury rehabilitation and post-surgical use
An ankle injury should be assessed before selecting a brace, particularly where there is significant pain, swelling or difficulty bearing weight.
